Here are simple but essential safety tips to help you protect your EastWest Credit Card and always keep your account secure.
1. Practice card security from day one.
Sign on the back of your credit card immediately upon receipt. When creating a password or PIN, avoid using easily identifiable information such as your birthday, social security number, or sequential digits.
2. Keep your card and account information private.
Never surrender your card to anyone in exchange for a card upgrade, credit limit increase, prize claims or similar program offers. Never disclose your One-Time Password (OTP), credit card number, expiration date, 3-digit CVC/CVV, or other personal and banking details, even if requester claims to be from EastWest.
3. Protect yourself online.
Shop only on secure websites. Look for a lock icon near the URL bar before entering payment details. Check for a privacy policy that explains how your data is handled. Avoid clicking suspicious links that ask for your credit card number, Cash Advance PIN (CA-PIN), or other personal and banking information.
4. Monitor your account regularly.
Regularly review your account record online and Statement of Account (SOA). Keep copies of your SOA and charge slips for reference purposes, and if you notice any unfamiliar transactions or suspect unauthorized activity, please report immediately. Likewise, if we identify unusual purchasing activity on your credit card, we may call you to verify the transaction. Your account may be temporarily blocked until we confirm the validity of the transaction.
5. Properly dispose of your old card.
Upon receipt of your renewal or replacement card, please ensure that your previous card is made unusable by cutting through the magnetic stripe, the smart chip, and the card number. To further enhance security, permanently disable the chip by cutting through it or punching a hole before disposal. Additionally, please shred any old receipts or documents containing personal information that are no longer required.
6. Keep your contact information up to date.
Notify us immediately if you change your home or work address. Always ensure your mobile number and email address are current so we can contact you quickly in case of suspicious activity.
7. Report lost cards and suspicious activity immediately.
If your card is lost or if you suspect fraud, contact us right away. You are protected from liability for unauthorized charges made after the card is reported lost. Call us through EastWest 24-Hour Customer Service Hotline +63288881700.
8. Watch for printed (not embossed) card details.
As an added security feature, all new, renewal, and replacement cards are issued with printed (not embossed) card details. This measure supports enhanced fraud-prevention practices.
If you receive a credit card with embossed details or notice anything suspicious, please report it immediately by calling the EastWest 24-Hour Customer Service Hotline at +63288881700.
